Here is the final piece in my Fairy Pin Up series. It has been a wonderful learning process and definitely something I would be interested in doing again but with a different ( and less perfectly proportioned ladies) theme. Maybe Scandinavian Trolls next time?

I spent most of the day yesterday on preparing the calendar spread in both Danish and English (You can see the cover and back here) and I ordered a proof of the printer which should arrive at my apartment at Dec. 15th at the very latest. On that note I am very pleased that I actually managed to finish before my December 10th deadline.

Lastly I would like to thank everyone who has supported me throughout this project. Especially my good friends, parents and of course my husband, who keeps me sane whenever I get too caught up in the drawing. Thank you everyone, it means the world to me.

Merry Christmas everyone!
Now I have a few commissions to finish up before Christmas Eve and my fingers are also just itching to draw a few Christmas Gnomes!

After being without internet for a little over a week I am finally back in action. In the meanwhile I wisely spend all of my spare time kicking some a** on my drawings and finished up two more fairy pin up piece. I am currently about half way into the process of the final one and am also very excited about making my deadline which was dec. 10th – it looks like I may even finish ahead of time, which is a good feeling.

My July piece is just a little fishy and as for June, it comes with a story – first of all the facial reference is yours truly and second the witchy nature of the piece is due to old danish traditions of Sankt Hans evening (Beltane to some). On midsummer in Denmark we have an old tradition where we have midsummer night’s bonfires along the beaches and burn a “witch” made of old clothes and straw, filled with fireworks, upon these fires. It is said that upon midsummer’s night all the witches gather on top of hill Blocksberg in Germany where they have a celebration.

It’s almost strange to be working on summer fairies now that Thanksgiving has just been here and Christmas is on it’s way. From the moment I started colouring this sketch I felt really excited about it. I wish I could spend much more time on it and really bring it to a super polished finish but I have a deadline to make on these calendar pieces. I am trying to stick to max. a week for each piece.

Fairy Pin Up: April

I went with an Easter theme for my April Fairy. I would actually have loved to spend more time rendering on this piece, but I have to stick to my one week deadline per piece to be finished in time. I am very happy with the result though, I feel like I am learning a lot with each of these pieces. Hopefully by the time I am done with the next four I will really have upped my skills from when I begun, so I kick some butt on the piece for Spectrum that I will be working on afterwards.

Here is my sketch. I was delayed from my last piece, so I went a little easy on my sketching phase for this one.

For some reason I was really struggling with this piece. I think I started out with a wrong colour selection so there ended up being a lot of adjusting as I was working. None the less here is the final, it is time to move on to the next one if I am to finish in time.

The Fairy Pin Up Calendar will hopefully be finished around mid December and will then be for sale.

This piece ended up taking much more time than it should have because I near the finish decided to repaint half of it, I’m happy with the final result though. 5 down, 7 more to go!

My Fairy Pin Up Calendar will hopefully be done by mid December and then it will be for sale.
