We have midterms at Pratt Institute at the moment so our professors have us bring in samples of the work we have created so far in the semester and give us an estimate grade based on it. Looking through my school studies, I must admit I am a little embarrassed about the quality, as I feel like I am capable of producing far better.
It is worth remembering though that in school it is less about using your own techniques and more about using the techniques the teachers set forth, experimenting and being pushed beyond your comfort level.
